Emergency in Haiti – The Tulipe Association and its teams mobilised in response to a violent earthquake that affected 650,000 inhabitants.
The Association transferred 1.7 tonnes of health products with the help of the Crisis Centre of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs. Tulipe’s permanent staff prepared tailor-made emergency kits. They consist of health products and medicines. 34 canteens filled with these kits were then sent to the Crisis Centre. This operation was carried out in order to meet the urgent needs of the hospitals and rescuers on site.

Emergency in Haiti: Access constraints and insecurity in Haiti
Despite the negotiation of a humanitarian corridor, access constraints and insecurity remain a major challenge for our humanitarian partners, who have just dispatched a donation today. The authorities have already reported over 2,200 dead and more than 12,000 injured. The earthquake in Haiti on 14 August 2021 was a magnitude 7.21 earthquake. It occurred in the commune of Petit-Trou-de-Nippes (Nippes), located on the Tiburon peninsula, 150 km west of the capital, Port-au-Prince.
About donations of medicines by the Tulipe association
Tulipe professionally manages and coordinates donations from healthcare companies during health crises such as the one that hit Haiti in 2021. Companies that donate health products to Tulipe transfer to the association the pharmaceutical responsibility for the donations made (traceability, withdrawal of batches, correct use, etc.). The association then responds optimally to the needs of health NGOs in the field by providing them with tailor-made health kits. More than 20 NGOs are currently partnered with Tulipe and can therefore benefit from shipments of donated medicines in less than 48 hours.
