The aim of this donation of medicines to Madagascar is to support 29 health centres, including 5 hospitals. They are located in the Kanem region in the west of the country. The Kanem region, in addition to suffering from the general destabilisation following the violence that the country has been experiencing for several months, is a very isolated region with very little access to primary care.
Action Contre la Faim ‘s support focuses on providing access to free , high-quality curative care in health facilities, in order to improve the nutritional and health situation of children under the age of 5 and pregnant and breast-feeding women.
Action Contre la Faim and the field of health in humanitarian aid
This new health partnership is very important for Tulipe because Action Contre la Faim is an organisation witha real knowledge of the areas in which it operates. In Chad, projects based primarily on food security have enabled them to acquire a very good knowledge of local players and issues, and to gain access to health projects.
In addition to its work on food security, Action Contre la Faim has, over the last few years, opened up a new field of expertise in health, in order to have an integrated activity on the ground.
