2017 and health product donations: a pivotal year for Tulipe

In 2017, Tulipe supported more than 300,000 patients through 22 partner NGOs in 21 countries. Tulipe sent 407 health product kits in 2017. This is the largest number of kits ever sent by the association, which has the status of a pharmaceutical establishment. In its 33 years of existence, Tulipe has gradually returned to a consistent rhythm in response to ever-increasing requests from beneficiary associations.

Several operations were carried out in 2017, the first of which was to provide unwavering support by sending medicines to Madagascar. This was thanks to the ARMADA association. Madagascar suffered an unprecedented plague epidemic in 2017. Tulipe also continued to provide humanitarian support to Syria for the 6th consecutive year, and strengthened its presence in Chad, Niger and Mali by expanding its partnership with CIAE (Centre interarmées des actions sur l’environnement), which is the only organisation with access to populations in these war zones.

Cooperation between Tulipe and the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs

In addition, in 2018 Tulipe actively participated in relief operations for the island of Saint-Martin following the passage of Hurricane Irma, distributing over 1.5 tonnes of health products through the Ministry of Health.

A collaboration with the government that officially came to fruition on 17 December 2017, with the signing of a partnership with the crisis centre of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs. In 2018, Tulipe will have to try to gradually modify its operations in order to be able to meet the ever-increasing demands arising from a global humanitarian situation that has continually deteriorated in recent years.
