On the edge of urgency: The origin of Tulipe

In 1982, at a time when Poland was ravaged by war, theTulipe association was created as an emergency response to the pressing medical needs of populations affected by conflict. Since its creation, Tulipe has embodied the very essence of solidarity between healthcare companies working together to contribute to access to healthcare during the various crises that have marked history over the last 42 years.

In 1984, Tulipe took part in the Sahel 1984 operation. Canteens of medicines were transported by the Camions de l’Espoir to the countries of the Sahel during the food crisis affecting the region’s populations. The association supplied 3.5 tonnes of health products, i.e. around one hundred canteens.

Crucial interventions

From the shores of the Black Sea to the farthest reaches of Asia, Tulipe has written its history through interventions that have marked lives and healed wounds. From emergency operations in Afghanistan to relief efforts during the devastating earthquake in Haiti, health crises in Cambodia and Iran, and the Tsunami in Asia, Tulipe has relentlessly pursued its mission to provide access to healthcare.
