The boat for Ukraine has left Marseille: a look back at the start of the operation in pictures

With an exceptional donation of 14 tonnes of health products, Tulipe and its member healthcare companies took part in the solidarity operation “A boat for Ukraine”. The humanitarian boat left Marseille on 28 September, in the presence of Catherine Colonna, the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

A relevant partnership with the Crisis and Support Centre

For our association, which brings together medical donations made by the pharmaceutical industry, this relevant and effective partnership with the Crisis and Support Centre is reflected in what has already been done for Ukraine, i.e. more than 100 tonnes of donations”, explained Alexandre Laridan, Director of Operations for the Tulipe association, at the launch of the solidarity operation “A boat for Ukraine”,

This humanitarian operation in Ukraine marks the 5th anniversary of the partnership established with the Crisis and Support Centre. This partnership has led to a number of joint initiatives, including a previous humanitarian operation last March with the support of the CMA CGM foundation, which chartered a plane for Ukraine. Tulipe donated 9 tonnes of medicines.

Catherine Colonna launches humanitarian operation in Ukraine

The French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Catherine Colonna, was in Marseilles (photo above) and was delighted to witness the departure of the largest convoy of French humanitarian aid to Ukraine. The CMA CGM ro-ro vessel “Aknoul” is carrying more than 1,000 tonnes of humanitarian supplies to meet the priority needs of the Ukrainian authorities. In addition to the health products donated by the Tulipe association, the convoy is carrying foodstuffs and emergency vehicles. The next stage is Romania, where the equipment will be taken care of by French rescue engineers and firemen sent to the area. They will then be responsible for the departure of humanitarian convoys bound for Ukrainian towns such as Odessa, Kharkiv and Chernihiv.
