Donations of medicines to Ukraine: the Tulipe association and its partners continue to work on theUkrainian humanitarian emergency. Many pallets of medicines are ready to leave within 24 hours for Ukraine and Poland. The aim is to support populations in war zones. On Thursday 3 March, the association already sent 27 kits (1.5 tonnes) of medical equipment to Poland. The operation was carried out with the help of the Crisis and Support Centre of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs. 4.3 tonnes of pharmaceutical products for the NGO Association d’Aide Médicale & Caritative France-Ukraine (AMCFU) also left on Thursday for the city of Lviv in Ukraine.

A huge shortage of medical products
On 2 March, the French Disaster Relief Group (GSCF) informed the Tulipe association that the boxes of medicines had been distributed to the Ukrainian people in an advanced medical post. A tonne of medicines and emergency care equipment was therefore sent to the site. The aim is to help refugees and the injured. The GSCF team on the ground told us about the reaction of the Ukrainians when they arrived, saying that at the time of the first shipment “there had been no humanitarian aid yet … You can imagine how happy people were when they saw us arrive with hundreds of kilos of medicines”. This first shipment will be followed by another GSCF humanitarian convoy on 9 March 2022. Despite the first deliveries of medicines to the Ukrainian population, initial feedback on the ground indicates a huge shortage of medical products. For this reason, Tulipe and its partners are continuing their work in Ukraine.

The Tulipe association, a pharmaceutical establishment, federates donations from partner laboratories and health players to provide an emergency response to the needs of populations in distress. Donations of medical equipment and medicines are made in partnership with NGOs and humanitarian organisations with local knowledge.
