Member companies and foundations in the front line to support Tulipe’s action in Lebanon

For over forty years, the Tulipe association has been working to provide emergency medical aid in regions of the world affected by health, political or environmental crises. The support provided to Lebanon by member companies, laboratories and foundations is at the heart of this mission, enabling the rapid mobilisation of essential health products and financial funds to respond to the most urgent needs.

Crucial support for Lebanon

In recent years, Lebanon has faced multiple crises: economic collapse, an explosion in the port of Beirut in 2020, and a shortage of medicines. The critical situation of hospitals and health facilities has led to a dramatic deterioration in access to care. In response to this emergency, the Tulipe association has intensified its humanitarian aid to support vulnerable populations from the outset.
Tulipe has carried out two operations in Lebanon since the Israeli bombardments began at the end of September. On 29 September, the new French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noël Barrot, travelled to Beirut yesterday to hand over 12 tonnes of medicines to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, a significant proportion of which was provided by Tulipe and its partner health companies (18 health product kits, i.e. one tonne of medical equipment and medicines).

A major new operation in the pipeline

On 8 October, a new joint humanitarian support operation between France and Qatar enabled more than 27 tonnes of emergency medical equipment and essential goods to be transported to Beirut. The Tulipe association once again responded to the appeal from the Crisis and Support Centre of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, notably by donating 7 kits of health products (350 kilos).
Today, a new donation campaign is underway to help replenish stocks of medicines in the country’s hospitals and health centres. 15 tonnes of health products have already been collected. The Tulipe association, in partnership with the Order of Malta and other local players, continues to provide invaluable assistance to medical facilities, targeting in particular rural areas where access to care is extremely limited.

Contributions from companies, laboratories and foundations

Tulipe’s partners are committed to supporting Lebanon through donations of medical products and financial contributions, making it possible to respond to the critical needs of the population. The following companies have recently provided donations and contributions to support ongoing operations: EVER Pharma, Merck, Foundation S, Théa, Bayer, Zambon, CDM Lavoisier, Chiesi, Almirall, CSL VIFOR, Septodont and Amgen. These acts of solidarity have had a direct impact on the association’s humanitarian missions, guaranteeing a rapid and effective response to emergencies.

Working together to make a lasting impact

The solidarity of the Tulipe Association’s member companies plays a fundamental role in meeting the challenges of public health in Lebanon. Contributions in kind and in cash make it possible to maintain a constant flow of support for health establishments.
The Tulipe association continues to call on the solidarity of companies to support its missions and respond to health crises around the world. Together, we can make a difference for millions of people who depend on this vital aid.
