A new donation from the Tulipe association and its member health companies arrived in Ukraine on 20 November. The donation consisted of 11 pallets, or 2.5 tonnes, representing nearly 20,000 medical treatments for the Ukrainian population.Tulipe’s humanitarian action in Ukraine is thus a long-term project in a country that has been hard hit by war.
These health products were donated to our partner, the NGO Aide Médicale et Caritative France Ukraine. Since the beginning of 2023, our support for this NGO has enabled it to distribute 68 tonnes of medical aid to war-stricken areas. “Our partnership with Tulipe, a humanitarian pharmaceutical company, has been a key element in our efforts. In 2023, this collaboration enabled 68 tonnes of medicines, medical consumables and small equipment to be sent to Ukraine. Close cooperation with the Ukrainian Ministry of Health and regional and municipal health departments ensures that this aid meets priority needs and emergencies on the ground. Over the last few months, 55 health facilities in the Kharkiv and Mykolaïv regions have already benefited from aid from this partnership, and new convoys are being prepared to continue the distribution. The rest of the aid has been distributed in the regions of Dnipro, Kharkiv, Mykolaïv, Poltava, Donetsk, Odessa, Jytomyr, Lviv and Kyïv”, explains the beneficiary NGO.
Medical aid in Ukraine: two new NGOs receive donations of medicines
The Tulipe association has also been supporting other humanitarian organisations in Ukraine working in the field since the beginning of 2023. These include the organisation Motanka (via The Heart Fund).
This NGO, founded by French photojournalist Gaëlle Girbes, is currently helping isolated populations in villages in the Kharkiv and Donbass regions. Last June, a lorry chartered by the French association Safe for theUkrainian NGO Comité d’Aide Médicale arrived in Ukraine carrying 4.9 tonnes of health products donated by the Tulipe association and its member health companies. This was the first donation to this Ukrainian NGO, founded in 2000 by a Franco-Ukrainian team.
