On 7 November, Karine Levesque was elected President of the Tulipe Association (Transfert d’Urgence de L’Industrie PharmaceutiquE) following a vote by the Association’s Board of Directors.
“I wish to pursue with energy and determination the work carried out by Patrice Carayon and more recently by Olivier Poirieux, who have done remarkable work. Thanks to them and to the commitment of Tulipe’s teams and its Board of Directors, Tulipe has gained in impact despite unprecedented challenges, in particular the war in Ukraine. In a context where the international political and health environment is constantly changing, Tulipe’s ambition is clear and its action is unfortunately more essential than ever. I therefore wish to continue what has already been achieved and to work on ways to accelerate it further in the face of growing needs”, says Karine Levesque.
Committed to the health sector on a daily basis
Tulipe’s new President is involved in the health sector on a daily basis, and in her various roles she is driven by a constant desire to be at the heart of patient needs. Karine Levesque has devoted all her energy to the sector for over twenty years. After working as an international expert in HIV research, she wanted to get even closer to the patient by pursuing a career in the healthcare industries. Since then, Karine Levesque has taken on responsibilities in a variety of roles across the pharmaceutical value chain, giving her a global view of this environment and its challenges.
Knowledge transfer and mentoring
Today, as Managing Director of the French subsidiary of an international group, CSL Vifor, she remains committed and convinced that collective intelligence can be put to work for the common good, and is committed to working with her teams to meet patients’ needs. Her career path and her convictions have led her to become actively involved in community work, always motivated by the individual’s impact on the collective future. In recent years, Tulipe’s new President has invested a great deal of personal time in issues close to her heart, such as the transmission of knowledge and mentoring for young people from underprivileged backgrounds, and more recently, in trade union activities, in particular through her involvement as a member of the LEEM Board of Directors.
